About David Erickson

As a child, David took to reading at a young age. While an avid consumer of just about anything printed, he read the Bible at 10, the Koran at 12, the Book of Mormon at age 20. He handwrote his first novel, Strongpoint 208, at age 14.

He grew up in the northern suburbs of Minneapolis, attended the Hennepin Public School System, was the editorial page writer on the school paper, did in-depth articles, took creative writing, and sold his first story to a men’s magazine for ten dollars at age 16.

David enlisted in the Marine Corps at 17 and was trained to repair aircraft communications and navigation systems. In 1971, he served at Marble Mountain, Vietnam, and flew 69 missions as a door gunner on a CH-46 Sea Stallion helicopter.

While not a jack of all trades, David is restoring a 1949 bungalow. He has worked as a dishwasher, hydraulic systems mechanic, shop foreman, steel hardening apprentice, paint shop manager, insurance sales, financial planner, and had a three-decade career in office machines. He built an internationally recognized Savin service department in ten months and rescued a failing branch location for a regional dealer. His policies and cost-saving ideas reaped enormous profit. David owned an Olympia/Panasonic dealership for fifteen years before semi-retiring to the Ozarks.

As a business owner and community activist, David worked with the Boys and Girls Club, various charities, business organizations, and served on three boards.

Widowed  in early 2025, he is the father of two daughters and has four grandchildren, David lives near Branson, MO, overlooking Bull Shoals.

David writes in several genres as well as cross-overs.

Time Travel

On September 20, 2012, eighteen white domes appeared in metropolitan hubs across the Earth.  Theologians laid claim, spawning vast pilgrimages, but over time the structures became shrouded in mysticism; relics of a deeply religious era in human history.  Yet hundreds still visit each year, hoping they might reveal their secrets.

On Earth, 16-year-old RICHARD CARTER’s biomolecular code activates a dome.  At the edge of the Milky Way, a dimensional rift crackles to life.  Richard’s parents send him away to learn the ways of the world and live a life unfettered by political and theological interference.  Halfway across the world, another young man has the same experience.

92 years later, Carter, genetically a young man, is on his first galactic flight aboard the Earthforce Deep Space Cruiser Patriot.  In orbit about Berra 4, a moon in a twin star system inhabited by telepathic colonists and the souls of many lifeforms, the ship is destroyed by Hintus motherships from the rift.

Guided by civilians, the survivors on Berra 4 mount costly offensives against the alien invaders until Carter, appalled by the senseless loss of life, is granted command as the highest-ranked military officer on the moon..

With the help of the Berrans and CASSANDRA, a soul of unknown species, they fight the Hintus on the moon, then capture a mothership after a bloody struggle.  In two heart-thumping encounters, they destroy the other mothership, but the massive detonation obliterates a fifth of Berra 4, setting it on a course out of the solar system.

Repaired and fitted with Earthforce modifications, Carter’s rag-tag crew rampage through the upper galaxy, destroying Hintus ships and bases, while navigating towards the rift.

Carter convinces an Earthforce battle group to join the Pegasus in attacking a Hintus fleet defending the rift and in a horrific battle spanning thousands of kilometers, both fleets are badly mauled.  As emergency repairs are carried out, Carter learns that Austerman is his twin brother and together they face down a challenge to Carter’s leadership by the Earthforce senior officers.  In the days that follow, Carter reaches into the very depths of his soul to confront the unique nature of his birth and learns who his real father is.

In the final confrontation, Carter astrolifts his crew to waiting transports.  He and Austerman stay aboard to drive the captured ship into the rift with Hintus ships close behind.  The detonation of all three vessels collapses the rift, and Carter finds himself and Austerman in the alternate dimension.  Austerman must return to the universe on a mission to rescue Berra 4, which secretly contains the only gateway between the dimensions.  For now, Carter stays and learns anew who he is amid a reality he’d known through all eternity as home.

A Matter of Time

The morning for Lucas, a retired dot.com millionaire, was much like any other on Marker Island. He’s digging for worms when across the bay sirens start wailing, and out of the woods comes a little blue box, runs down the boat ramp, and plows into the water. Black sedans race to the water’s edge, and men in black pile out and start firing as that odd blue car thrums across the still waters. As it climbs the rocky shore near Lucas, the black suits pile into their SUVs and head for the ferry landing.

Ever curious, Lucas forgets about fishing and follows the path the strange car plowed through the island forest and finds nothing. To the ferry landing he goes, where he comes across a young woman who doesn’t fit in with the bathers on their way to the beach, and she is no local. His intuition tells him that she’s the one the Feds are after. He offers her safe haven until he can find out why. She is a chronologist from the future, she tells him. And she needs his help. For Lucas, the adventure of a lifetime has just begun.

“Time is flexible, yet immutable. I can travel to any point in time in the past, from my reality in the year twenty-one-forty-eight, to as far back as when the universe began, the Big Bang, as it’s called. I can interact with anyone, make dramatic changes in history as if I were directing a play, then leave. If I return a minute later, everything will be like it was before my arrival. No one remembers me. Like I’d never been there before because, to them, I hadn’t. Once I repair my vehicle, I will leave… and in that instant, you will forget I was ever here.”

The Right-Us Shall

   Inheret the Earth

In the closing days of the second millennium, a force unmatched in history is waging a secret war to bring about a New World Order.  Across the globe, men of great wealth and prominence are dying or under arrest, with indesputable evidence of their high crimes, such as accepting bribes and smuggling.  Investigations revealed connections to several banks and crime groups. Crime syndicates have become victims of accidents and assassinations. The pace is accelerating, yet the wave of violence seems to have no single source or cause.

Drawn into The Program, a Florida businessman is convinced that it is his destiny to join this last great struggle to free the world from economic and political tyranny.  As the only visible sign of the Program’s existence, Dave Carlstrom’s assignments are to assassinate the most powerful and evil of the crime lords in a very public way. On the nation’s highways. Equipped with a high-powered early model Dodge packing a .50 caliber machine gun, Carlstrom, a.k.a. the Highway Vigilante destroys his targets with explosive pyrotechnics.

Teamed with Marine Colonel Tiffany Thomas, they are unsuccessful in a daring daylight attack on a notorious international drug kingpin.  Blood curdling action and harrowing misadventure follow as the evil Mauro Romar survives and tracks down his would-be killers, threatening the very existence of The Program.  From a helicopter assault on a gathering in Arizona to the final showdown with Romar on a highway in Minneapolis, Dave Carlstrom shows courage and patriotism amid the backdrop of a violent international struggle of good over evil.
